Brace yourself for this incredible frozen mango margarita! Mango is my favorite fruit of all time. My favorite fruit mixed with alcohol only makes it better! Honestly, I haven’t mastered a regular margarita, but this mango one is off the charts. To make it even better, it’s made with all fresh or whole ingredients! Besides the tequila, of course.
It’s summer, it’s hot, and a frozen margarita is quite refreshing. Add a ripe, seasonal fruit in there and you are set. I imagine this margarita would be great with strawberries, pineapples, and even watermelon, too.
For this drink I bought fresh mangos, chopped them up, and froze them. Pre-frozen mango would be great, too. But how could I pass up these beautiful fresh mangos that are perfectly ripe and in season? Silver is my tequila of choice, but I’m sure gold would be tasty too. I used orange juice instead of triple sec in this recipe as it gives it a fresher taste.
Another part of this recipe is the lime-flavored sparkling water. I usually have this on hand, and it’s great for reinforcing the lime flavor in the margarita. Unflavored is fine, but if you like lime as much as I do, just add more lime! Even though it’s a blended drink, you still get some fizz from the soda. Finally, the sugar-coated rim. Well, sugar-chile-lime coated rim. Tajin makes the mango shine in this recipe. Have you ever tried Tajin on mango or other fruit? If you like that, you will love this! Alternatively, you could just do plain sugar and it will still be excellent.
The blender I used for this smooth margarita is a Vitamix, which is a high-powered blender that is absolutely epic. Any blender would work fine for this, but you may need to blend it a little longer.
I think I’ll make a pineapple or strawberry margarita next time to mix things up. I may even infuse the tequila with jalapeno to make it spicy! What is your favorite flavor for a margarita? Do you like yours frozen or on the rocks? I’ve always been a bigger fan of frozen margs!

Watermelon Mint Refresher (add alcohol of choice)
Frozen Mango Margarita
- High Powered Blender
- 2 cups frozen mango
- 3 oz silver tequila
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 1 lime juiced
- 6 oz lime flavored sparkling water 1/2 a can
- 1 ½ cups ice
- 2 tbsp Tajin or chile-lime seasoning
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 lime wedge or slice
- Prepare rim of glass first. Combine Tajin, or chile lime seasoning, and sugar in a flat bowl, narrow enough to put the glass in upside down. Line the rim of the glass with a lime wedge to get it wet. Dip the glass in the Tajin-sugar mixture, coating the whole rim.
- Combine all ingredients for margarita in a high-powered blender and blend for 1 minute until smooth. Add more lime sparkling water if too thick.
- Pour margarita into glass, top with a lime wedge and enjoy!
